SouthCookExplore was created in April 2021 in response to excessive demolitions of important structures, and inconsistent availability of historical information online. Kevin Barron has documented thousands of historic homes and buildings through his Instagram account and created over one hundred free maps on location and information of historic landmarks all across Chicagoland. Additionally, he frequently hosts tours and volunteers in many historic events throughout the year.
